The journey begins towards the Dades valley. On the way, we will pass through the Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi Ntichka Pass (2260 meters in altitude). There will be opportunities for short breaks to take pictures and admire the stunning panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and traditional Berber villages.
After that, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This castle has been used as a filming location for several famous movies, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Sahara with Penelope Cruz. We will take a walking tour to discover the culture and beauty of this site, and have the option for a lunch break in town.
Continuing the tour, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gate of the Desert" and "Hollywood of Africa." Our next stop is the Roses Valley, where we will pass through the Skoura oasis and its palm groves, with more than 700,000 palms and many kasbahs. This area is also famous for its damascene roses, which are used for cosmetic purposes, including rosewater. Every year in May, the festival of roses is held here.
The first day of the tour will conclude in the Dades valley, where we will spend the night in a Riad after reaching the Dades Gorges.
